So its kind of a funny story,

We LOVE popcorn in our house and I mean its pretty much a bag every other day (okay sometimes for lunch).

Last night John and I were playing a game together and Madysen was very adamant about not wanting to go to bed (imagine that a kid who doesn't want to go to bed..). So we indulged her, it was sat night and we were hanging out too why not let her join. WRONG.

She was eating a handful of popcorn with us and sneezed the biggest sneeze I have ever seen and popcorn went everywhere. LITERALLY. So I cleaned it up and a little while later Madysen comes up to us and is complaining about her nose. So WE get a flashlight out and checked her nose out and guess what. A popcorn kernel had come up through the nasal sinus cavity thingy (we are super technical) and was lodged in her nose. So we held her down (there are bruises in the shape of our fingers from holding her so we could get it out with out hurting her ironic right?) and I popped it out with a bobby pin. SCORE no doctors visit. WRONG.

I checked out her other nostril and guess what I saw, ya another piece of popcorn. So we held her down but it was to far back (1 hour of this and Madysen still won't let us look at her nose today...). So I call the 24 hour nurse and do the things she suggests to no avail. At 11 PM we head to our first ER visit since Madysen was born at around the same time we went in when she was born even. They check her out and agree it has to come out somehow.

This is where it got fun. They gave her a drink that was suppose to make her relaxed and loopy and just all around drunk. She had just finished a sippy cup of milk and wanted nothing to do with it. Its getting to be 1 AM and we are desperate. The only cartoon that is on is Futurama, she keeps escaping our arms and running out into the hall (this happens on sundays and we usually don't catch her til she has ran the whole building (its shaped like a circle)) and starting to get really cranky. The nurse puts like 1000000 packets of sugar into the drink and she guzzles the PEPSI (she is her mothers daughter and that really is her favorite pop but she also calls all sweet drinks pepsi) and we are excited thinking home is right around the corner in like 30 min tops. WRONG AGAIN.

The thing acts just like pepsi and makes her wired. I'm talking bouncing off the walls, bursting into song, spinning in circles, crazy person hyper. And LOUD there are people sleeping madysen. NOOOOOOOOO. sorry sick people. The nurses keep coming in "wow she is still up" oh ya shes up and rearing to go. Eventually (1:45 am) they decide to just go for it. His tweezers didn't work either so they got out a balloon catheter and out popped ANOTHER whole popcorn kernel. I was amazed and seriously what are the odds. We were finally able to go home and take our belligerent little drunk with us. No side affects she doesn't even seem to remember the whole episode. I just had to laugh it was really a funny thing to have happen and probably one of the best situations to have to go to the ER for no serious problems and she came out just fine.

I thought she'd do better sitting getting it done. She just wanted to sit in the waiting area reading a magazine about how to make her makeup look better for her complexion. We did this on a whim so I also failed to capture it on camera so here is this morning we just got up but at least her hair is done..

Not a huge amount cut off but it makes a difference and she likes it now

Back from Holiday Hiatus that wasn't meant to happen

Sorry my only excuse is two terrible head colds and the holidays.

She was playing hide and seek in her stroller while we waited for santa

so funny story with this pic. I had finally let her out of the stroller and she was following her cousins and as they got closer to santa she looked up and saw where they were headed and backpedeled away from him and turned and ran to the stroller where i caught her and carried her screaming back and she was happy the moment the candy cane hit her tiny little fingers. She recovers fast from her fits (especially when candy is involved).

this is at the kids museum (same for the one above this one too) and she kept coming and sitting by me so I snapped a quick pic before she could run off again.

This is the only gift Madysen opened. It was the one we knew for sure she wanted and we made the mistake of letting that be the first. She has since then warmed up to the rest of her toys and kicks us out of her room when we come in or try to put her to bed with a "get out! I'm playing"

So this is all we got of her Christmas morning because that was all she did....

John had everyone captivated with his gift

She warmed up to the wagon Grandma and Grandpa Adams got her before we left because it was away to keep her cousins from touching my precious I mean her princesses (sorry bad LOTR joke)

Today it was 60 out and we took advantage and I haven't taken very many pics lately so this was to make up for my lack.

I'm a part time insomniac this is one of those weeks, it appears our two year old is also somewhat and insomniac and I don't know how long this has been happening.

Its 3:03am as I write this, I was cutting ribbon for a project the YW leaders are doing tomorrow and I heard noise coming from my suppose to be sleeping two year old's room. I opened the door right as she put a tiara on her head. She looked up at me and said, in her most awake perky voice, "GOOD MORNING!". No Madysen 3am is only good morning on Christmas Day. So I wrapped her up in her blankets and as I'm sitting there telling her goodnight I heard music. Ya she had also gotten down and turned on her radio.

Monday morning, I went into her room to make her bed and I found a flashlight, turned on, and her princess book. I'm thinking she does more at night than just sleep.

Today she started Beauty and the Beast, like got the blu ray out and put it in and pushed play. She also showed us that she will throw her diapers into the diaper genie for us if we ask, no more opening that stinky lid for me!!

At least Feliz Navidad hasn't been the song of the day for a couple days I'm not going to lie that song gets old after 4 days on repeat even though its cute that she knows the words.

I think I just heard her empty her toy bucket and Rapunzel doll is singing At last I see the light, I think thats my cue to say goodnight, hopefully.

So I think I need to post more I had like 60 pictures I narrowed it down a little for you though.

So Madysen is still on the Princess kick, she likes to carry the "flowies" in her arms too.

Here she decided the dog needed to hold the flower and look outside.

She thought it was funny to smother John with the scarf while he napped on the couch.

She was making sure his face was covered.

We went to the Childrens Museum with Liv and Brisa the other day

They seemed to have a lot of fun together

They had Santa and he told the nativity story to the kids can you see Madysen? Shes 3 heads in with all the big kids.

She wouldn't stop talking to the kids who where around her.

The kids pushed her up there and she FINALLY sat on santas lap without screaming!!

She even talked to him for a good 20 sec.

So you know that elf on the shelf thing? Madysen does it herself with her "babies"

I came out into the living room after my shower while she was suppose to be napping to find this.

at least they were comfortable and now she is telling them to "come on" she's eating and I think she wants them to go eat with her now.

Heres the living room with furniture finally! My wonderful Aunt Sally and Uncle John gave us the desk and the bed in Madysens room and we love them (my family and the furniture :D ). I just realized that there isn't a picture of our piano..I don't think there is anyways. I love it and its been fun to have. The couch we got on wed. I kinda begged John I'm a little sick of sitting on camp chairs.

She uses the drawers and the bed frame as toe holds and climbs in. She hates the cushions we put on the bed and takes them off all the time. We put them on there because I keep banging my legs on them she manages to avoid it.

This was the first day she told me "I'm a princess, I wear a dress and pretty shoes." Since then we got her a tiara.

And she sure loves to wear it. and tell us how much of a princess she is.

We went to Cataldo a week ago and the leaves were beautiful.

Okay I can't get this up with the rest. This is her other princess dress and she loves twirling in it.

She took my caramel and ate it I only got a little bite :D

It was a really pretty day.

This is her original crown she finally ripped it enough that I threw it out.
Oh we heard about Johns job kind of. We are here for sure until the end of Jan. Then we find out more.
WE also just got callings John to the Elders Quorum and me as a Beehive Advisor. It will be a lot of fun!

Madysen has been walking around the house under blankets saying BOO! So we thought she'd like being a ghost for Halloween. We were wrong. Very very wrong. She hates her costume.

Thankfully once the Halloween party started she got over her problem with the costume and her friend Emily and the other kids helped her have a blast.

This is how I found her eating her breakfast this morning. She knows who the real ruler of the house is.

Sorry its been a while. We haven't been doing much. At all. Today Madysen got her first battle wound from nursery she still has a bite mark on her arm from nursery and its been ~2 hours since it happened. I think the mother of the girl who bit Madysen felt worse for her than Madysens' own mom( me ) did. She cries harder when we talk about it (I do that to.. she is her mother (with lots of grandma and greatgrandma)) Also when it was time to pick her up from nursery she bonked heads with the leader. It was also nap time.
Oh did I tell everyone our ward boundaries got switched we are no longer in the same ward as g'ma and g'pa :( however church is now at 11 instead of 1 :D but now it switches to 1 in January and they switch to 9 :( here we go on 3 years of 1pm church hip hip hooray for us.
John hits the 6 month mark at work this week they said between 6-9 months they will tell him if they are going to let us stay with them. We are hoping that we get to stay (I'm over being unsure where we will be next year).
Enough blabbing here are some pictures!

So I have been trying, hard, to get Madysen to potty train. She won't (notice its won't and not can't). She does everything that is necessary to potty train but won't sit. So to entice her to work with me on the whole thing I said she could watch more tv, specifically Blues Clues (I don't really care if she watches tv but I usually restrict her to a show in the morning just because I don't like listening to it and would rather have music on and we are usually trying to do other things) I turned my back for 1 min and came in to find her like this on top of our tote that serves the dual purpose of hiding my billion awesomely homemade blankets and blocking the blu ray from her fingers. As you see in the next few pics she is standing/ sitting in her potty backwards (don't worry shes never actually used it)

I just think she has the most amazing eyes. Those long eyelashes definitely didn't come from me.

Leatha planted a beautiful garden, and as part did pumpkins. While the pumpkins were growing John carved Madysen into the flesh so it calloused over it, the next day a deer took a bit out of it. Thankfully id didn't rot out.

This was when we were cleaning the garden up. Madysen had a blast helping grandma

I thought it was pretty cool that the pumpkins "climbed the fence a couple even grew on the neighbors side.

Madysen likes things to go a certain way and watch out for her wrath if you try to mess with it. This was where the pumpkins had to go after grandma cut them off the vine.

She liked to help.

He was yawning like always.

So I made this for Joann and Travis' new daughter Annabelle (I really hope Leatha gave it to here already :) ) It was fun and frustrating all at the same time. The rectangles are ruffled, and I did it by hand then quilted it with hearts and love( like literally not the weird each stitch sewn with love crap don't get me wrong i love my new niece I just can't talk like that it just isn't me :D ). I have learned now that designing and then producing it was not as easy as it looked by any means. I would totally do it again though, it looked good with the pink minkee on back and was SO soft. I'm excited to meet Annabelle she was born Tuesday and is SO beautiful! I hope this blanket keeps her warm.

So I took these to document further the OCD of our two year old. She lines everything up all the time and then talks to them. One thing that was kind of neat though was she was counting the cats for me there were two and she kept going one two and then she was naming the rest of the animals and did pretty good except the dragon threw her I mean you don't ever see them so I understand :) The downside to this was i was fresh out the shower and the cold air was getting in. There isn't a lock on our door and so she intrudes alot.

again I just cannot get enough of her!

Madysen and her new trike!

I don't know why but she really liked sitting right there and she pushed the pillow to be like that. She was also VERY anti clothes that day...she does that about 1x a month

John FINALLY got his diploma in the mail and his FE certificate came the next day. YAY John!! We are proud of him!

That is a maple bar and she is just eating the frosting and gave me the slobbery donut part and wanted to trade for mine...

We got to go to Choteau the last weekend of September and my brother Erik went through the temple for the first time and Canada was gracious enough to let John, me and Kevin cross with just our licenses. The picture is back row *grandma Evensen, Kevin, John, Me Front row' dad Erik and mom

This is a beautiful Catholic cemetery down the road from my in-laws. It is recognized as a sort of landmark here in Spokane. On the hill at the cemetery a man built this and the fountain, and the stairs to get to it in like 1976 and it is really neat.

Theres the view of the valley from up there it is a BEAUTIFUL spot.

Life is good for us. We got to stay home and watch general conference last weekend and there were some awesome talks. Madysen is finally saying I love you with out me getting on my hands and knees begging for it :) I love hearing it. alot... She also used the toilet for the first time today (which is gross and exciting all at the same time :D ) hopefully that will continue, but it was and has been kind of a battle and one that i'm not to strongly fighting (diapers are SO SO convenient haha). John is doing well at work just being super super busy! I have been going to an institute class on the old testament on tuesdays and I am loving it! Now I think I get it and appreciate it MUCH more than before! Madysen has some funny phrases that she says randomly. for example "I like it" starting low and getting high like a crescendo < its pretty funny. The other one is "like a boss" thanks Uncles... she now knows rather than assumes that she is the boss :) also she has been quite chatty and talks to grandma evensen on the phone for longer than I do (which according to John is a long and quite frequent thing) often this is punctuated by her fake laugh of the week (seriously she practices a new one a week and it occurs frequently during the day (the other day we showed her how to knee slap too and that has been thrown in as well)) !

I turned my back for 5 min literally. This is what happened. She got a hold of my eyeliner pencil and drew on herself.

Ramen is her favorite meal right now. However she isn't so smooth at putting it in her mouth.

She falls asleep in front of our door all the time. She will get all her blankets off her bed and make a "nest" and sleep until we find her and put her back in her bed.

We were canning all week. This night it was corn time so Madysen was helping us shuck corn.

WE went to the childrens museum and her favorite part was the water table. She ran to it pretty much every time she stopped playing with anything else.

She played with this food for quite awhile as well.

So I totally forgot to mention that my mother in law Leatha was amazing, awesome , wonderful enough to allow us to party it up at her house and she also made that castle cake! Ya i was in shock that someone could make a cake like that meaning so super cute (really mine turn out as blobs but hey thats what costco is for right? ) it turned out so cute and super delicious! So I just had to make sure you all knew that. I also wanted to say thank you for coming to the party to Aunt Julie, Uncle Jack, Josh, Tanner (best present helper ever!), grandma and grandpa Evensen, mom and dad, Amelia and Tim (I'm so glad you guys came! Tim was also amazing enough to help us move our HEAVY piano) and of course Wayne and Leatha!! It was perfect!

5 hours past nap time she FINALLY crashed yay for some me time :). Nap times are a power struggle the last few days. I guess since we are celebrating her birthday early the "terrible twos" came early? She almost never falls asleep anywhere but her room. She will go put herself to bed when shes tired. I guess playtime has been just too good lately.

Madysen was dancing around our campfire for probably about an hour ...no lie..

She paused and said "cheese" then wanted one of me and her. It was pretty cute.

Our first camping trip ever as a family! It was pretty fun and Madysen did a really good job. I don't know why my one eye looks swollen shut but it really wasn't I promise.

Okay these next few are a couple of shots that were taken at different moments with Madysen playing with the Maglite that was like as big as her upper half. She was pointing it up in the sky down on the ground in her face, in our face EVERY WHERE it was pretty funny. Then she threw a mega fit when it was bed time because she wanted to play with it.

We got her pj's on and then she was upset so we brought her back out to the fire with us and I was all ready to whip out some s'mores when I found out that I had left it at home... except the graham crackers. oh well mady was happy. I made some on the s'more maker John got me today after church to make up for it.

Brown's Lake WA its way back in the woods and there are no motorized boats allowed on the lake so its super peaceful and way beautiful!

she kept moving the smoke around it was pretty funny. There were tons of mosquitoes here which was a bummer but the worse was at all the other places we went. But there were also some chipmunks and they kept yelling at us and John told Madysen that they were saying Hello so every time she'd hear it she'd yell HI and wave it was pretty funny.

Browns Lake

The water was SO clear and the fish were jumping like crazy it was awesome. We also saw a crawfish swimming around which was kinda fun too. We pushed this guy out You can kinda see his "raft" in the picture below. It was tiny like 3 ft long and really shallow. he was like 6' tall at least it looked like one of those you can get for a pool that you blow up with your mouth. we couldn't believe he was serious, but we got him out with out incident hopefully it didn't collapse on him.

Madysen HATES water unless she dictates when, where, and how much she gets. She was wading into browns lake and splashing and she slipped and fell right when I had turned my back of course and John yells Katie get her and by the time I had turned around was standing up and walking out crying. She was not happy about the whole thing as you can tell by her pouting lip below.

This was a water fall over where John use to camp as a scout you can't camp there now but it was way pretty on that side of the lake

This was some Grotto just outside Usk. They use to have church in it. those stones were originally benches and that square thing was the alter. It was pretty neat.

We went up about 1/2 mile from Canada to this thing called the Gardner Caverns and this is us eating lunch before the tour.

Sweet Creek water falls it was just outside Metaline at a rest stop. Its a really short hike and it was beautiful. You could go to like 4 areas. above is the first below is the second at about 1/2 up the falls

This was the top of the falls like right where it goes over and Madysen was throwing rocks here. I was hovering a lot during this adventure...

This is the other spot and it was at the bottom and you could get right up to the base, but Mady just wanted to throw rocks.

I think we will for sure try this again, but with a few different tactics (like a cot or air mattress for me :) I'm a pansy I know) We did a ton in one day, but its all in Ione county WA or maybe it was Pend Oreille (think Pondera I don't know what they were thinking keeping the French spelling for the area because I kept saying Pend and then thing Orville (like the popcorn) with out a v I'm so glad I didn't say it out loud to a local :D. Theres a train ride from Ione (the town) to Metaline falls I think we will have to check out some time it looked fun.

I didn't explain the bear or deer part. The deer was so close to hitting John on the drivers side that he is pretty sure he could have pet him as he turned sideways to avoid us if the window had been rolled down. I hate deer when they come on roads. The bear was outside Cusick (sp? sorry) and it was a black bear just walking towards the highway taking its sweet time. That was pretty cool to see.
there was also a bald eagle that dived into the lake that is by Ione where we went to the city park so Madysen could swing. Mady kept calling it and airplane that was pretty fun to see too.

Its been slow around here

This is her wild run around the house almost naked before bedtime routine... It involves a lot of running, tickling, squealing, and giggling that happens in this time

See the flower below ( or fl-owies as Madysen calls them)? She usually LOVES smelling flowers. Well this trip to Manito all she wanted to do was throw rocks and RUN. She has started this thing where she will look at us and then yell RUN and take off running, and when she wants a race she says "Mark Set , GO" and takes off

Amelia and Wayne watching Leatha and I take off on the Plunge ride. Its my favorite. Wayne went on it with me first then we convinced Leatha she had to try it one time in her life. I didn't know she was afraid of heights :D She missed out on a great view at the top!

Ah now we come to the story I was telling you I had earlier. Madysen is our adrenaline junky. I mean from super early like 3 mo she loved being dropped like Panic Plunge style. When we hold her she throws herself back so she can fall. But there are two things she hates that blow our minds that she hates them. Rides (like this one with Dumbo and Carousels) and those Blow up jumpy things. Leatha and Wayne took Madysen while John, me, Amelia, and Tim went on some rollercoasters. I thought of this briefly as they strolled away then shrugged my shoulders and went on some rollercoasters at Silverwood. That insight proved to be true. SHE SCREAMED! and hated it and the person in charge of the ride asked Leatha to take her off the ride before it even got started. yes thats right it wasn't even moving yet. She is afraid of the big animals. There is a huge daffodil at Discovery Park right by our house and she screams and hides if we bring her too close. The motions of the ride don't make her any more interested either. It just aggravates her more.

So she did this the whole time at Silverwood. She played in the park, threw rocks, danced in huge circles, and played to the crowd for attention.

They did find a ride where the operator just shrugged at her screams and let them handle it. She did fine, but once she saw the end she yelled "ALL DONE!" and that was it for the cars.

John is uber grossed out by snot and buggers. I have to wipe her nose almost every time. She thinks its hilarious to pick her nose when hes watching. It cracks her up.

We have been putting her to bed with just shorts on because she gets so hot she soaks through her pjs by mornings and her pillows are soaking wet from sweat. Ya its a little intense. so thats why shes half naked. But I had my camera in my hand and she kept saying Cheese! cheese! She likes the camera a lot..

She found Johns helicopter and was flying it making noises for it. It was pretty cute.

These are just some stories that I wanted to post, but they don't have pictures. Shocking I know....

Madysen likes to tell people when she is done, she will say "all done" over and over until you get the memo. Especially if its something shes not fond of (i.e. sitting still). On Pioneer Day we had to give talks (4th year in a row and counting...I guess I don't know enough about them yet). Madysen was sitting on grandma and grandpa Adams lap while John and I took turns on the stand. I was first. You know when you give a talk and its the first time in a ward you kind of have to introduce yourself. Well this is kind of weird to do when its really only me who is the stranger. We are in my in-laws ward and John grew up in it. So I was not very good at my into because for 3+ years now its been both of us then all three not just me. So they just got basic real basic info. To cover up this awkward moment I introduced Madysen. I did so by excusing all the screaming, yelling AMEN and ALL DONE'S they had heard that day because frankly my almost two year old has ants in her pants ALL THE FREAKING TIME... She won't even sit to watch tv unless she is strapped in her carseat.. Well I give my talk on how we as LDS are to be Ensigns to all Nations based on a talk from the April Conference. After I say amen after I bare testimony to the truthfulness of the gospel and the joy it brings into our lives, there was a little pause while I gathered my things together and wouldn't you know it my sweet, impatient, nursery addicted, toddler yells out "ALL DONE". Everyone laughed and dad got to be the bad guy who made her sit for another 15 minutes.

Next happened Friday and it was just cute so I want to put it on here so I remember, because as I have said before this is kinda my way of journaling because frankly I suck at it... Madysen doesn't say I love you. She can, because when we were at grandma Evensen's my mom would say now what does grandma say and Madysen would say "I love you" (we later got her to hiss like a cat every time my mom asked her that it was pretty funny :) ) She also doesn't like to give hugs or kisses if you ask for one, she decides if she will give you one (tonight I asked for one because she was kissing everyone else and she leaned towards me like she was then blew a raspberry then went back to kissing grandma and grandpa Adams) On Friday though every 5 minutes she would run up to me and hug my legs and kiss my leg then run off and play then come back. It rocked my world!

This one is also a journaling one because if I don't write it down I think I will think I'm remembering things crazy like later in life. Madysen is a pretty obedient child, really, except when outside or it involves sitting still... anyways. Every night for the most part it will get to be 8:30 (sometimes 10...) and we say Madysen its time for bed. She grabs her blanket, kisses us if she feels benevolent, then walks into her room climbs into bed puts the blanket on herself and closes her eyes. She will also do this for naps. Awesome isn't it! She will also lay down in front of her bed for diaper changes and then go to the correct chair depending on if its breakfast (highchair) or snacks (couch). Pretty good huh!

She has figured out how to open all doors now and not just the ones with the lever handle. So now when she wakes up its like watching a kid at Christmas or I guess listening because frankly I'm still in bed most of the time when she gets up. She runs throws open her door then knocks on ours and opens it up and runs around to my side of the bed and goes Mama! then I try to convince her to go back to sleep until at least 8:30 (ya right) and eventually we get up for breakfast.

I think I blabbed long enough because its midnight. Happy August world! I have one more story but that one will have to wait until I put the picture up too!

We went to a family reunion for Leathas family. Me, Madysen, and Leatha headed up Friday and John and Wayne came Sat. This was a Nez Pierce vs US battle grounds.

Dad, Bonnie/Jo/Sammy, and Madysen had a lot of fun. She loved that there were so many "bubbies" (puppies) around.

Her first firework. She did so awesome with the fireworks, they didn't bother her at all!

The boys do this every year pretty much. They get artillery shells and line the cannons off then light them off all together at the count of three to do our own little show. So far there haven't been any injuries.

We stopped at the Coeur d'aLene Lake on our way home from MT and they have and AWESOME INTENSE wood playground with tons to do on it. Madysen was in love with it!

It was John (and Joann's :) ) birthday on Thursday we had a party with our friends Rob and Brisa and their daughter Liv Amelia joined us and Tim did to after he got off work. Wayne and Leatha were nice enough to let us us their house for the party THANKS! It was a lot of fun!

Funny things that have happened lately.

It will be time for bed, a nap, or a diaper change So we ask Madysen to go lay down or go to bed and she does it. She will crawl into bed and tuck herself in. Or pick a spot on the floor and lay down for a diaper change. Its pretty funny, but I don't really know if this can last forever :) .

Another thing was that we became the proud owner of a Dodge Caravan. Its a minivan, now personally I'm pretty anti-minivan, however, John convinced me of their good side and we found a really nice one (with a dvd player for Elmo on car rides)

We met up with our friends from Rexburg who moved here just right before us! We took the girls to the carousel and I don't know how soon we will try that again. Madysen actually did MUCH better than last time.

A new post for the post grad life

Well we officially graduated, got a job, and moved. So I have some catching up to do...

First (better late then never right?!) Amelia got married to Tim on April Fools day! It was a beautiful wedding. (The pictures are in chronological order thats why our family picture is first...)

Congrats guys!! We are still SO happy for you!!

Madysen has a slight tendency to curse things out when they don't work the way she thinks she should. Take this stroller for example. We got it at Christmas for her and I just got it out again because she was so mad at the stupid thing before... (Really it was that bad that I waited 4 months) She still curses it out but not for such a long time period as before and then she figures it out. I guess that would be some semblance of maturity?

Notice if you will a complete lack of John in any of these photos... BYUI in all its glory decided to schedule the engineers graduation during the Fundamentals of Engineering exam that took place in Pocatello. Its an exam pretty much every engineer HAS to take and its a state exam, not a school one, so there is no changing the date and it happens to be on a sat. every time... He had also lost his final projects for two classes so we saw him maybe 4 hours that whole weekend.. Then we were going to get pictures of him in his gown but life got busy fast that week after graduation, we will prob fake one at a park here in spokane at some point... A funny side note that you may or may not care about I got that cap and gown when I graduated high school and I almost wore the same dress (as it was my dress i wore was the same color just a little upgraded...) and I most def. wore the same shoes... Maybe its time to change out my closet a bit.

We are staying with Johns parents Wayne and Leatha until we get an apart. they have a pretty sweet train table that Mady adores to sit on...

Mady cut her finger, but we didn't know that, I came into the kitchen and saw this red stuff on the dishwasher and she was drawing in it. So I picked her up washed it off and put a bandaide on it. Then when I turned around, she had ripped off the bandaide and continued where she started. She screamed when I had the bandaide and tried to get it back on, but no screaming at the cut on her finger.

I'm so excited she has CURLS!!

I am also kinda jealous :) I hope she keeps them!

Today I was checking Madysen's mouth because she kept putting her finger (all of them from both hands) in her mouth, and I felt a molar. However, what I failed to notice until it was too late was that the upper molar, right above the one that came in, was there, what are the odds. Madysen likes to bite, especially when she is teething, and we had no idea that she had been teething.
I wish I hadn't left my finger in her mouth as long as I did...

18 Months

We officially have a kid in Primary.
Thats kinda strange to say.
So most people probably don't care about this information, but I'm kinda using the blog as a way to journal information.
I'm not so good at writing in a journal, so anywho....
Madysen is 32 and 3/4 inches tall and has jumped up to the 90th percentile for height.
She weighs 21.8lbs and is still hanging out at the 10th percentile for weight.
Her head is 18.3 inches around and thats at the 50the percentile.
I just counted the words she uses and shes is getting up to 50 down including: Whoa, Elmo, Song,mama, Dada, S*** (just kidding but it sounds like that sometimes ), Elmos Song, Cookie cookie cookie, Big Bird, Pretty, whats this, whats that, NOOO, yes, Thanks, Thank You, SHOES!!!, nana, book , ball, outside, and more.
She think she can jump SUPER high ( I am gonna get that on video because its hilarious), she loves to play and sing on her piano book, and her favorite movie is Kids Favorite Songs with Elmo. Her favorite food is any fruit and she loves Pediasure

She did AMAZING in nursery from what I heard and didn't even notice we were gone I bet.

We love having this girl in our home. She brings a LOT of joy and laughter. She certainly entertains us with her antics constantly.

Madysen LOVES to sing! She also loves to be tickled... weird I know. Last night she was playing on her "piano" and noticed John holding it up so she started to tickle herself on his fingers. Then she started to play and sing to her music. I have been meaning to send a video to AFV since she was born and I think we finally have the right video! What do you all think?

My quilt

I don't usually like to put my crafty things on my blog. I don't really know why. But this is my first quilt, my mom gave it to me and helped me learn how to cut, sew it, and quilt it! (THANKS MOM XO)! Plus its a Halloween one and John and I LOVE Halloween its a good day for us :)...
However, Yahoo won't let me email pictures and I wanted to show my Grandma Bracken my quilt!

So here you go grandma! Love ya and Miss (both of you :D ) I've been doing it by hand and some days I seem to be able to do the stitches closer together than other days. The Part with the witches on is one solid panel, the edge with the alternating patterns are 11 stripes sewn together and then cut and sewn again and the edge is another panel sewn to the sides. The back is the same purple as in the first two pics with stars.. Maybe one day they will look as good as the Golden Thimble Quilters do! Also mom showed me your quilt for June/July (I forget which month) LOVE IT! The colors are AWESOME and so is that pattern!! She also showed me the bright fabric you got for one LOVE those colors too!

First off notice the time of the post is 8 AM! You can tell this is not our usual morning. Who knew that people can reasonably get up at the 7 AM hour?!

Well I made scrambled eggs for breakfast (Madysen is an addict . me not so much...)

She was sitting at the head of the table while I was ~~doin my thing on the internet~~ eating AWESOME scrambled eggs when I hear her tear off her bib. You know the sound Velcro makes.

So I look over and ask her "are you done with breakfast?"

She looks up at me and says "NOOOOO" and grabs her fork to keep eating.

So I get up to put her bib on and she looks at me and says "No. Sit Down!"

So I sat back down and she finishes her breakfast and says "done"

and now shes on my lap eating my breakfast

So on Saturday John went and checked the mail and there was a package for me!! So excited! When I opened it there was the MOST AWESOME heels ever from the MOST AWESOME momma ever!!! Madysen also felt this way...

Today the Little Girl went to Idaho Falls with her AWESOME parents and the little girl was in heaven. She abandoned her Uncle Kevin to look at hoodies at PacSun to go try on ~~1000~~ 17 pairs of shoes (no exaggeration). After her parents ~~forced~~ explained why the little girl had to put her boots back on the little girl got....

HALLELUJAH! Her biggest dream is now a reality!!

Mom had jewelry that was hidden oh so carefully in her bathroom drawer and the little girl took it upon herself to make a quest out of finding everything in the whole house that could be worn anywhere but on top of her head. The next thing she found in her quest was how to cook. Of course the best part of cooking is....

Ah the savory goodness of raw sugar cookie dough. In this part of the world the little girl decided that cookies were to be labeled as "coki coki coki" said in a low voice in rapid succession (think cookie monster). After that kind of goodness the next thing to do is take a seat in the best throne ever created by man...

But when mom found the little girl in this amazing throne surrounded by cronies (think of your fullest bookshelf emptied in a circle around you and every time you go to pick it up some magical being throws it down in a circle again) mom decided that the little girl needed some "real" food...

Please be hot dogs and fruit the little girl hoped and hoped.

and as mom brought out the food the look of oooh commenced as it was all that she had hoped for and more!

and the whole time the little girl ate she held her fingers crossed that maybe there would be desert again some day.

and of course there was and this is the look the little girl gives her mom when she was finally full of goodness!

The little girl had a wonderful day and felt that it was just best that she could play so many roles in her life.

WE took her to Tangled the other night and she crashed on the couch when we got home.

She is VERY careful with her foodstuff when she runs off with it to the living room we find it like this, very carefully set upright where she can access it later.

I pulled out the camera and said CHEESE and this is what I got!

She loves feeding herself, we are not allowed to feed her if we try she flips out, but this is what happens when she does feed herself...

I'm Back

Our desktop is connected to our TV and so we use this table when we work on homework. Up until 5 days ago I was also able to keep some pictures and other things there, but Madysen had a great deal of curiosity about what I had there. Today she climbed up onto the tote and wiggled her way in there and of course was stuck.

Little Monkey has progressed to climbing onto the table, and we have to save the fish by having our table pushed right up to the tank so she cannot rock it over. Monday John had the chairs stacked so that one was upside down on the other, she still climbed up and then got onto the table and was about to test the weight limit that the cover on the fish tank has, thankfully he caught her before that antic played out.
She likes prank calling people at 11pm (no joke she has done this 3 times now).
We had just gotten home from church and John told her to find a spot on the floor for a nap, shockingly enough she did just that. It was pretty funny to watch, I mean she literally walked around for about a minute and then picked this spot to lay down.
This is her beautiful Christmas dress, however, we didn't catch a nice one in front of the tree we will have to try that later.
Yeah for the pots and Pans drawer and mom not putting them all away so that there is enough room to sit down in there...

I have had to find a new place for all of my pictures as you can see even without the table there she likes that spot, and you really don't want to be in her way if Elmo comes on the screen.
She also likes to help out around the house as shown by her getting the computer cords out for me and closing the lid on her sippy cup and closing it up in her drawer to come back to at a later time.

Good thing John and I made a deal about pets already. This kitten let Madysen do ANYTHING to her and just loved her. It was pretty fun to take Mady to the Cat shelter we were there for 1.5 hours and she never stopped saying Whoa.
Also this has been happening for awhile but I finally remembered to take pictures of it. Our nibbler likes to bit with her SIX teeth ya we are sure rolling on that spectrum aren't we. Yet she takes so big of bites she gags... Well I think this made her think they needed to be sharpened to be more effective. I still find new marks on her crib from her doing this every couple of days. She also does it on metal, her own teeth, moms arm, dads toes, .... pretty much anything.

I am officially done with my Bachelors Degree in Sociology and History. It feels SO good!! Madysen can have more for dinner than Little Ceasers every night (like this week)!

John has his last final in the morning and just a few presentations left and then we head up to Choteau.

My brother Kevin has been serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Phoenix, AZ. He returns after 2 years on Saturday! So we are headed North for Christmas and I'm really excited to see him and everyone else!!

In case we do not blog again before Christmas we just want to say

Our Thanksgiving break started off all wrong. When we tried to leave Rexburg the Intripid wouldn't start and we had to get jumped. We were and hour later than planned and the snow had started. When we passed Drummond, MT we hit a patch of black ice going not quite 65 and started to fishtail. We went onto two wheels but before we could roll down the hill we hit a marker which knocked us back on four wheels. We then slide down a 20 embankment where we ran into a TON of rocks and ended up with a fence post under our driverside tire in the wheel well. We had to be towed the 40 miles to Missoula, MT because it was the closest down with a big enough shop to take car of our car. Once we got there we realized that it was the Cat/Griz game so there was no way we were getting a hotel room. We ended up staying with an AWESOME bishop in Missoula. The rest of the way to WA was uneventful. The whole time we were there it snowed. They have SO much snow. The car was totaled but NOBODY was hurt so it was the best/worst thing to happen. So now the trust Probe gets to be used and I think the poor car won't know what to do with itself. (I hate driving it on the snow so wish me luck :) ) Madysen is crashing with Grandma Evensen until Sunday because all my teachers decided that the best time to be done w/ school is next Tuesday instead of finals week so SURPRISE and then I will be done with my BS!!! Hope everyone was safe this break! oh and Merry Christmas soon!

She keeps taking the keys and trying to put them in the door and then she also knocks. Its pretty funny!
See. She also brings us our shoes.. I guess we don't get the hint fast enough.

This is the hat my Aunt Karla and Cousin Amanda sent Madysen, they also sent a purple one. I'm in love with them and with the mittens on she can't pull it off :DThis is as far as she would go at first. Then I made her go stand in the snow. We got about four inches in 24 hours!

Here's our little Frankenstein! She loved the lady at the ball toss the most but the hula hoop was a close second! The only downside is that Madysen looked like a boy and everyone called her one because she refused to keep her awesome bow in her hair :(

Madysen uses the big girl swing now!
She is throwing rocks away while we wait at big Juds.
This lady was holding this backpack with a teddy bear on it and so Madysen walked up to it and started to talk to it. The lady had no idea and started walking away. Madysen followed her with her fingers in her mouth and her hand reached out to grab it. It was way funny.
